Funding and customer acquisition solve different problems. Borrowing money cannot by itself fix weak demand, unclear positioning or poor sales follow-up. At the same time, more leads do not solve a genuine capacity or working-capital constraint.
You may have a demand problem if…
- Your team has capacity but too few qualified enquiries.
- Website traffic is low or the business is difficult to discover.
- Visitors arrive but do not enquire, book or buy.
- Leads are generated but follow-up is inconsistent.
You may have a funding problem if…
- You have credible demand but cannot buy the stock required to fulfil it.
- A productive asset would unlock demonstrable capacity.
- Cash is tied up in timing gaps despite viable sales.
- You have a measurable expansion opportunity and understand the repayment impact.
Sometimes the answer is both
A business may need capital to increase capacity and a stronger acquisition system to fill that capacity. Model the economics before taking funding: expected additional gross profit should be considered against the full cost and repayment burden of the funding.
